Fibre Processing

Loose Fibre Processing

Drycom is an essential component in the processing of all hydroscopic fibres. If it can absorb water, it can loose you money!
Drycom optimises moisture content before, during and after processing.
Fibres of different construction and/or fibre composition, have different response characteristics and may require individual calibration data. STREAT Moisture Meters are able to hold up to 99 calibration sets to easily accommodate these differences. At the change of fabric type, the appropriate calibration set is called into use. The systems are supplied with full instructions that allow the user to derive new calibration sets (if required) as the product range alters.
Streat Instruments Ltd has successful industrial experience in the measurement of both natural and man made fibre types, eg. wool and wool synthetic blends, cotton and cotton synthetic blends, viscose, nylon and acrylic.
These fibre types can also be measured in various forms during processing, ie. loose fibre, sliver and yarn as well as fabric.

Benefits of controlling moisture in fibre production include;

  • Increased profits
  • Increased productivity
  • Elimination of reprocessing
  • Improved downstream processing
  • Reduced wastage
  • Improved and consistent product quality
  • Fewer claims from customers
  • Better deployment of labour to other vital tasks
  • Increased average moisture content (resulting in higher sales value)
